Sourcing

Where the listings come from

Reachmark looks up public businesses on OpenStreetMap. What we could not measure stays unknown. Nothing here is a market-size claim.

OpenStreetMap limits

Discovery uses the public Overpass API around a named city. It is a snapshot of mapped businesses, not a complete directory of a country.

  • One search is capped at 80 listings.
  • Onboarding scores at most 10 of those from stored listing evidence.
  • If Overpass is slow or empty, we show empty — we do not invent names.

Measured

A website check reads a public page: status code, bytes, viewport, forms, contact paths. Each leak is labelled from that read.

  • Public http(s) hosts on ports 80/443 only.
  • Redirects are re-checked so a hop cannot point at a private network.
  • A blocked check is inconclusive, not a fault.

Unknown stays unknown

Ability to pay, competitor rank, and whether a business “needs work” are not inferred. Gap totals are not a revenue forecast.
